The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matka wants to clinch but Manson slips to the side

and Manson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Manson distracts Matka with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Manson tries to free his leg and advance position but Matka is retaining full guard.
Manson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Manson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Manson advances to half guard.
Manson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Matka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Manson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Manson tries to pass to full mount but Matka defends it.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Manson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Still in half guard, Manson seems content to control.
Manson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Willy Manson just wasn't active enough.
Manson throws a shot from downtown. Matka moves away and avoids it.

Manson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Matka's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matka can do anything to dispel that myth.
Matka wants to get back to his feet but Manson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
