PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Blade Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Putman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jackson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Guru Josh Project - Infinity. Blade Jackson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blade Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Putman!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putman shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Putman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Putman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Blade Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Putman.

Putman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Putman drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Putman off! Putman jumps back into Jackson's guard.

Putman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Putman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Putman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jackson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Putman swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jackson is now in Putman's guard. A big mistake from Putman there, giving up the dominant position!

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Putman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mike Putman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jackson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Putman frees his head nicely. Oh but Jackson has switched to an armbar! Putman is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
