PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Dredd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Terry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dredd's entrance music is I Am The Law!. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jackson Dredd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nigel Terry!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dredd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Terry.
Dredd swings for the body but Terry moves out of range.
Dredd throws a leg kick but Terry checks it.
Terry thows a body kick. Dredd tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Terry takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dredd digs a good hook to Terry's body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dredd.
A head kick from Terry lands but Dredd takes it in his stride.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Terry checks a low kick from Dredd.
Terry wants to slow Dredd down by chopping away at his legs.
Terry avoids the body shot from Dredd.

Dredd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Terry looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dredd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dredd trying to control the action but Terry is working from the bottom.

Dredd wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Terry, who protects the arm well.
Terry tries to bench press Dredd off him but Dredd keeps the position.

Dredd tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Dredd trying to control the action but Terry is working from the bottom.
Dredd is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Terry will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Dredd goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Terry has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dredd but great work by Terry.
Dredd tries to bench press Terry off him but Terry keeps the position.

Terry tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Dredd tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Terry wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dredd is working hard here to advance position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Terry tries to stand but Dredd is controlling his head.
Dredd manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Dredd dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Terry attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Terry goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Terry takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Dredd misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Terry.
Dredd on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dredd changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Dredd throws a shot from downtown. Terry moves away and avoids it.
Dredd fails to land the takedown.
Dredd misses with a straight right.
Terry throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Terry is looking to clinch but Dredd is avoiding it.
Terry lands a head kick. Dredd smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Jackson Dredd has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dredd moves out of range of the strikes.
Dredd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Terry is looking to slow Dredd down with leg kicks.

Dredd swings for the body but Terry moves out of range.
Terry tries a head kick but it misses.
Dredd changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Terry tries to avoid it but Dredd manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Terry to the ground. Terry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Terry throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Terry pushes Dredd away with a front kick.
Nigel Terry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Terry goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dredd walks straight into a right hand from Terry - that's dropped him! Terry jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Dredd from any more punishment! Dredd complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Nigel Terry!
A relieved looking Nigel Terry thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
