The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
fraser looks to score with a jab to the body but McGillicutty is just out of range.
fraser is looking to clinch.
McGillicutty bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of fraser's head.

fraser takes a swing at McGillicutty's ribcage but misses.
McGillicutty tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and fraser counters with a two punch combo.

McGillicutty is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. fraser can't fight it off and eventually McGillicutty manages to take the fight to the floor. fraser looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McGillicutty postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! fraser is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McGillicutty, into his guard.

McGillicutty fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with fraser, pushing him back against the cage.
fraser tries to pull guard but McGillicutty holds him up against the cage and eventually fraser drops back down to his feet.
fraser seems to have recovered his senses.

fraser is fighting off a takedown attempt but McGillicutty is just too persistent for him and manages to trip fraser to the mat. fraser regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

McGillicutty looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! fraser has picked McGillicutty up and slammed him! McGillicutty can't keep hold of the triangle and fraser manages to pass to side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

fraser has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
A bone on bone clash there as McGillicutty blocks the leg kick.

McGillicutty shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts fraser as he jumps to the side.
McGillicutty fails with an attempt to clinch.

McGillicutty moves into the clinch successfully.
fraser misses with a punch on the inside.
McGillicutty wants a takedown but no success here.
