Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wally Butcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wally Butcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Young!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Young coming out on top.
Young keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Young misses with an uppercut
and Butcher counters with a thumping low kick.
Young throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Butcher ducks under a wild hook from Young.
Butcher really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Young throws a leg kick
and Butcher cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jimmy Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young misses with a right hand
letting Butcher counter with a right hand.
Young on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Young.

Butcher thuds his right hand into Young's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Young is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Young bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Butcher's head backwards.
Butcher misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Young throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Butcher stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Butcher swings for the body but Young moves out of range.
Young scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Young with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Young takes a swing at Butcher's ribcage but misses.
Young throws a shot from downtown. Butcher moves away and avoids it.
Young shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Butcher throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Young counters with a stiff right hand.
Butcher throws a hook but Young blocks it.
Butcher bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wally Butcher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Young throws a body punch but Butcher moves out of range.
Young closes the distance and clinches up with Butcher, looking for a takedown. Young pushes Butcher against the cage but Butcher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wally Butcher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Young.
Butcher rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Young moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Butcher avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Young avoids a punch combination nicely.
Butcher is looking to slow Young down with leg kicks.

Butcher throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Young counters with a straight right hand.

Young feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Young is in close to Butcher's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Butcher has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Young can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Butcher manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Young manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Butcher is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Young looking for a sweep. Not yet Young, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Wally Butcher will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Young shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Young showed some decent athleticism there.
Young looks to land a strike but Butcher avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Young is looking to pass into half guard but Butcher pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Butcher is in guard.

Young lands a nice hook to Butcher's body. Butcher takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Young shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Butcher manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
