Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Alaniz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bret Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alaniz comes to the ring accompanied by Slippin. Bret Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bret Jones!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alaniz pinned against the ropes. Alaniz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jones throws a big elbow that misses.
Jones trying to control but Alaniz is working from the bottom.
Alaniz wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Alaniz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Alaniz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Alaniz is tightening it up a little... Jones has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Jones reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Jones taps out! Nice BJJ there by Alaniz!
