PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Postal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mehmet Sirovica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sirovica has chosen last mohacian as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sirovica stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Postal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sirovica won't allow Postal to get back to his feet.
Postal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Postal wants to stand but Sirovica is controlling the position.
Postal pulls Sirovica in close to his closed guard and prevents Sirovica from doing any damage or advancing position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Sirovica shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sirovica showed some decent athleticism there.
Postal wants to control but Sirovica is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Postal pushes Sirovica off and gets back to his feet.

Sirovica drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Postal manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sirovica has Postal in his guard.
Sirovica is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Postal wants to stand but Sirovica is controlling his posture from full guard.
Sirovica manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mehmet Sirovica showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Sirovica looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Sirovica looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Postal's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Sirovica lands a big shot there that rocks Postal but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

You get the feeling that Postal really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Well Sirovica has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
