PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pvt. Duane Doberman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duane Doberman and Randy Randall. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Pvt. Duane Doberman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Randall!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doberman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Randall paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Doberman looks to land a combination but Randall avoids it well.
Randall smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Randall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Doberman sprawls well. Doberman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Randall gets slowly back to his feet.
Randall fails with a takedown attempt.
Randall lands a nice hook to Doberman's body. Doberman takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Doberman fails in his attempt to clinch.
Randall fails with the takedown.
Pvt. Duane Doberman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Randall.
Doberman misses with a body kick.
Doberman leaves Randall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Randall clobbers Doberman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Randall darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Randall is working for a submission of some sort.
Doberman is trying to get back to full guard.
Randall wants to pass the guard but Doberman is defending well.

Randall is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Doberman sees it coming and defends easily.

Doberman is not content to let Randall control the position.

Randall wants to work for an arm triangle but Doberman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doberman slaps away a takedown attempt from Randall, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Doberman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Randall manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Randall defending well as Doberman loads up on a big left hand.
Doberman tries to clinch but Randall is having none of it.

Doberman moves into range and clinches up with Randall.
Doberman blocking some punches.
Randall is trying to break free.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Doberman as Randall tries to tie him up.
Randall digs a right hand underneath Doberman's ribcage. Doberman let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Randall trying to stall but Doberman improves his position.

Randall breaks from the clinch.

A cross from Randall lands.
Randall is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Doberman throws a half hearted mid kick.
Randall connects with a body shot that sends Doberman's belly button to the back.
Randall fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Doberman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A cross from Randall lands.
Doberman throws a leg kick

and Randall counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Randall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Doberman defends it well.

Randall seems to be working for a kimura but Doberman defends the submission attempt.
Randall trying to control from Doberman's half guard. Doberman has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Randall is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Doberman keeping moving, preventing Randall from controlling successfully.
Doberman wants to stand but Randall is controlling the position.
Randall not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Doberman is doing well to control the position and prevent Randall from advancing to side control.

Randall wants to free his trapped foot but Doberman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Randall drops back looking for a leg! Doberman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Doberman manages to kick Randall off! Randall jumps back into Doberman's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Randall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Some bone on bone action there as Randall checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Pvt. Duane Doberman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Randall lands a right hook to the body.
Randall cracks Doberman with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Randall counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Randall is pushing down on Doberman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Doberman is fighting to maintain full guard but Randall has managed to sneak the leg through.
Randall wants to pass to mount but Doberman is defending the position.
Doberman is refusing to be controlled, as Randall sits in half guard.
Randy Randall has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Randy Randall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Randall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
