The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Cain Muerta has been cut.
Nice shot lands for Muerta.
Muerta keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Junior clinches up against the cage.
Junior drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Muerta gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Junior breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Muerta lands with a straight right. Junior didn't see that one coming.

Junior gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Junior pulls guard effortlessly.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Muerta would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Muerta wants to control from the top but Junior keeps moving.

Muerta content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Junior has locked up a guillotine! Junior's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Muerta is holding on here and Junior must be using up a lot of energy. Muerta has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Junior gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
