Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lianm Eddson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernandes has chosen Hall of Fame as his entrance music. Rafael Fernandes will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandes avoids the head kick by Eddson.
Eddson tries to bum rush Fernandes with a series of wild strikes but Fernandes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fernandes shoots in for a takedown but Eddson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Fernandes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fernandes gets control of Eddson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fernandes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Fernandes doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Eddson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Fernandes!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fernandes shoots in looking for a takedown but Eddson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fernandes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Eddson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Eddson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fernandes circles away quickly and effectively.
A combination from Eddson does no damage.

Fernandes throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Eddson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fernandes is in Eddson's guard.
Fernandes wants to control from the top but Eddson keeps moving.

Eddson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fernandes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fernandes gets to his feet. Eddson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fernandes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Eddson is trying to break free.

Fernandes is trying to trip Eddson. He has hold of a leg but Eddson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Fernandes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Eddson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fernandes is working away from the top position though.
Fernandes prevents Eddson from standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lianm Eddson.

Fernandes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eddson's guard.

Fernandes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eddson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fernandes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eddson's waist but Eddson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fernandes off to one side.

Rafael Fernandes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Eddson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
