Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Doors - Peace Frog. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 2, fighting out of London, Fred Boyle!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyle ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Walker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boyle misses with a few strikes there.
Boyle connects with a body shot that sends Walker's belly button to the back.
Walker misses with a takedown attempt
letting Boyle counter with a right hand.
Boyle misses with a straight left.
Boyle falls off balance throwing a combination

and Walker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Boyle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Boyle has his foot on Walker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walker works his way back into a safe position though.

Boyle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Walker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boyle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Walker defends well.

Walker is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Boyle is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Walker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Walker will probably get the nod.

Boyle fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Walker lands a glancing blow to the side of Boyle's head.
Walker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boyle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The fighters circling - Boyle throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Walker counters with a nice low kick that buckles Boyle's knee momentarily.

Boyle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Boyle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Walker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Walker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boyle is working away from the top position though.

Boyle is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Walker moves into full guard.
Walker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Boyle takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Boyle counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Walker is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Boyle misses with a takedown attempt
and Boyle takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Walker lands a jab-cross combination.
Boyle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Walker is fending him off so far but Boyle persists. Nope, Walker circles away and we're back to standing.
Boyle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jack Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Boyle.
Boyle shoots in looking for a takedown. Walker tries to sprawl out of it but Boyle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters circle momentarily. Walker darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Boyle fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Walker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
