A fine choice. Ingo Pavlik will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ares blocks a head kick by Pavlik.
Pavlik looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Ares gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pavlik throws a nice outside leg kick.

Pavlik tries to keep at a distance but Ares has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ares lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Pavlik tries to break free but Ares pushes him back against the cage.

Pavlik breaks the clinch.

Ares shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pavlik is trying to defend but Ares finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ares connects with a nice short shot to Pavlik's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pavlik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ares crunches a massive hammerfist down on Pavlik - he's out! Ares Holds back on further strikes and jumps to his feet to celebrate with the crowd!
