The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emir closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ferdinand's guard.
Emir drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Emir jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ferdinand keeping moving, preventing Emir from controlling successfully.
Ferdinand kicks Emir off and gets to his feet.
Emir throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ferdinand was covering up waiting for the punch and Emir finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ferdinand looking to hit a scissor sweep but Emir is one step ahead there.
Emir wants to control from the top but Ferdinand keeps moving.

Emir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Emir has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ferdinand can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ferdinand accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Emir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ferdinand gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Emir looking for a triangle here. Ferdinand is fighting it but it looks tight! Emir pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ferdinand is tapping out - this one is all over!
