Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jd Almanez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Sully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almanez comes to the cage accompanied by Rock Hood by Shinobi Ninja. Sully is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I See You. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jd Almanez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Sully!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almanez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sully throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Almanez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Sully moves out of range of the strikes.
Sully slips under a jab from Almanez.

Sully fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Almanez to the ground. Sully is now in Almanez's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Almanez wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Almanez wants to stand up but Sully is controlling him.

Almanez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sully gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sully working some strikes from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sully lands a couple of digs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sully working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sully stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Almanez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sully trying to control but Almanez is working from the bottom.
Sully with a flurry of punches that miss.
Almanez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sully's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Sully must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sully prevents Almanez from getting back to his feet.
Sully pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Almanez is keeping the position for now.
Sully throws an elbow that misses. Almanez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sully's guard. Nice move by Almanez!
Almanez wants to control from the top but Sully keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Almanez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sully is keeping the position for now.
Sully wants to hit a switch here but Almanez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sully there!
Sully working to try and regain half guard.
Sully is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Almanez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Almanez looking to control but Sully is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sully is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Almanez wants to control the pace but Sully is squirming around nicely.
Sully slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Almanez is looking for a kimura but Sully is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Almanez to get the leverage.
Sully trying to control but Almanez postures up.
Sully is looking for a sweep. Almanez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sully has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Almanez is working away from the top position though.
Almanez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sully's head.

Almanez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sully has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sully wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sully manages to get to full guard.
Almanez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sully swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Almanez is working hard here to advance position.
Sully trying to strike off his back.
Sully not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Almanez looking to pass the guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Sully dominated that round.
That's time! Almanez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Almanez lands a jab to the head.
Almanez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Almanez misses with a hook. Sully ducked under it nicely.
Jake Sully seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sully closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Almanez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Sully frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jake Sully has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sully is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Almanez can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Almanez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Almanez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sully is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Sully working the ground and pound effectively.

Sully avoids the attempt from Almanez to control.

Sully swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Almanez is now in Sully's guard. A big mistake from Sully there, giving up the dominant position!

Sully working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Almanez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Almanez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Almanez is in close to Sully's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Almanez passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sully is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Almanez tries for a kimura but Sully is defending well.

Almanez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sully has escaped the position, nice work there.

Almanez has hold of Sully's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sully tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Almanez cranks the arm and Sully screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sully, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jd Almanez!
Our winner, Jd Almanez, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
