Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Staunton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ray Marsh will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Staunton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marsh shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Staunton's guard.
Staunton keeping moving, preventing Marsh from controlling successfully.
Staunton seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Staunton is looking to stand up but Marsh isn't so interested in that idea.
Staunton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ray Marsh hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Staunton fails with a takedown attempt.
Marsh takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Staunton leaves Marsh with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Marsh moves out of range as Staunton throws a body kick.

Marsh shoots for a takedown but Staunton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marsh looks to land a combination but Staunton avoids it well.
Marsh slaps away a takedown attempt from Staunton, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Staunton counters with a shoot takedown. Marsh fights it but they end up in guard.

Marsh wants to improve his position but instead Staunton has moved into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Staunton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marsh knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Marsh wants to control but Staunton is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Staunton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Staunton wants it to stay on the feet.

Staunton jumps into guard, dragging Marsh to the mat.

Marsh throws a big right hand that misses.
Staunton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Staunton doesn't manage to clinch there - Marsh circles away.

Staunton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Marsh is pushing Staunton's head away, looking to escape. Staunton manages to hold on to the position though.

Marsh gets caught flat footed, as Staunton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Staunton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marsh is proving hard to escape from.

Staunton works his foot free and advances to mount.
Staunton takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Marsh slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Well, if Staunton is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Staunton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Marsh avoids it really well and circles away.
Marsh misses with a takedown attempt - Staunton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Staunton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marsh paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Marsh shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Staunton defends it nicely.

Marsh gets caught napping as Staunton dives in and scores a takedown. Marsh manages to retain guard.
Staunton engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Staunton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Marsh's guard.
Marsh wants to sweep here but Staunton controlling him for the moment.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
