The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gompka instigates a clinch.
Gompka drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gompka wants to stall.

Guram breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gompka tries to close the distance and clinch but Guram swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vincent Gompka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guram keeps the fight on the outside.
Gompka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gompka tries to clinch but Guram moves out of range.
Gompka doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Guram counters with a low kick, right behind Gompka 's knee.

Guram bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gompka's guard.

Guram wants to stand but Gompka is controlling the position.

Guram controls Gompka momentarily but Gompka frees himself.

We're going to have a standup here because Jurij Guram wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Gompka pushes Guram up against the cage in a clinch.
Gompka tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Gompka gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Gompka looking to sit in guard and control but Guram gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gompka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guram. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Guram throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gompka works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Guram has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gompka clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Guram really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Gompka.
Guram lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Gompka hold on?!
