And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tank Goldman!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Der Houst shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Goldman napping and manages to drive through into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Goldman gets back to half guard.
Goldman is trying to control but can't.
Van Der Houst knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goldman on the ground.
Van Der Houst stops Goldman from getting back to his feet.
Van Der Houst takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Van Der Houst changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Goldman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Van Der Houst wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Goldman, who protects the arm well.

Van Der Houst closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Goldman quickly recovers to half guard.
Goldman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Van Der Houst is working away from the top position though.
Van Der Houst wants to free his trapped foot but Goldman is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Goldman pushes Van Der Houst off looking to stand but Van Der Houst dives back in and keeps control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Van Der Houst thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Goldman's head.

Goldman gets control of Van Der Houst's arms and successfully pulls guard. Goldman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
