Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Dodd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sauske Uchiha!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodd leaves Uchiha with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Uchiha tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Dodd counters with a body kick.
Dodd shoots in and bounces Uchiha off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dodd is pushing down on Uchiha's leg trying to pass to half guard. Uchiha is fighting to maintain full guard but Dodd has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dodd stalling.
Uchiha is trying to stand.
Uchiha looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Still in half guard, Dodd seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Uchiha trying to control from the bottom.
Uchiha is looking for a sweep. Dodd is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dodd is keen to just control but Uchiha is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dodd controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dodd throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
David Dodd has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Dodd clinches up against the cage.
Dodd jumps guard and drags Uchiha to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Uchiha decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dodd, up you get!
Dodd tries to bum rush Uchiha with a series of wild strikes but Uchiha uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A combination from Dodd does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dodd goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dodd closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dodd stops a takedown attempt from Uchiha.
Uchiha is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dodd pulls him back up using the underhooks.
David Dodd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sauske Uchiha.
Dodd jumps guard and drags Uchiha to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dodd is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dodd had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Uchiha defends it easily.
Uchiha trying to control but Dodd is working from the bottom.
Uchiha won't allow Dodd to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dodd controls Uchiha momentarily but Uchiha frees himself.
Uchiha trying to control the position from guard on top but Dodd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Uchiha throwing strikes from guard but Dodd blocks nicely.
Uchiha got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dodd has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Uchiha has managed to get both his arms back between Dodd's legs - danger averted.
Uchiha trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dodd keeping moving, preventing Uchiha from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Uchiha stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dodd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dodd is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sauske Uchiha has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Uchiha gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Dodd counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Uchiha fails with the takedown
and Dodd counters with a crisp one two that drops Uchiha! Dodd thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Uchiha to his feet! Uchiha is in big trouble!
Uchiha is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dodd lands a brutal head kick. Uchiha looks out on his feet and Dodd throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). David Dodd!
