PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Condor Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Castillion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Castillion comes into a darkened arena with his song building. smokestack lightning kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Axe throws a hook to the side of Castillion's head but Castillion sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Castillion moves out of range of the strikes.
Axe throws an overhand right that lands on Castillion's shoulder, as Castillion tries to avoid the shot.
Castillion slips a straight right by Axe.
Castillion throws a head kick that misses.
Axe throws a right hand that Castillion ducks under and follows up with a left that Castillion also avoids with ease.
Castillion tries to close the distance and clinch up but Axe swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Castillion has closed the distance and engaged Axe in a clinch.
Castillion can't break the clinch.
Castillion wants to break free but Axe has control.
Castillion is trying to maintain a safe position but Axe gets an underhook and turns Castillion into the cage.

Castillion gets control of Axe's arms and successfully pulls guard. Castillion will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Axe is really struggling to control Castillion but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Axe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Castillion on the ground.

Axe is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Castillion is keeping busy.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Castillion lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Axe or not.

Axe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Axe wants it to stay on the feet.

Castillion throws a right and a left that both miss.
Axe misses the jab.
Nice defenses there by Castillion.
Castillion tries to close the distance and clinch but Axe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Axe tries to bum rush Castillion with a series of wild strikes but Castillion uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Castillion moves in looking to clinch but Axe pushes him off.
Castillion throws a sloppy head kick and Axe moves out of range easily.

Axe paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Dante Castillion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Axe lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Axe connects with a single shot there.
Castillion closes this distance looking for a takedown but Axe circles away.
Axe misses with a two punch combination.
Castillion misses with a few strikes there.
Axe takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Axe avoids a punch combination nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Axe looks to land a combination but Castillion avoids it well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
