Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Hinch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis has chosen Celtics as his entrance music. Glen Davis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Stevie Hinch's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stevie Hinch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glen Davis!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Hinch tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hinch manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hinch is looking for a sweep.
Davis working the ground and pound.

Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis prevents Hinch from escaping the position.
Hinch parries the strikes from Davis easily there. Davis is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hinch to escape.
Hinch gets back to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davis looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Davis throwing shots but Hinch is blocking nicely.
Hinch punching from the bottom.

Hinch looking for submissions off his back.
Hinch regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hinch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Hinch's legs - danger averted.

Davis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Davis stops Hinch from standing up.
Davis chips away with some ground and pound.

Hinch has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Davis stands up over Hinch, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hinch wants to sweep but no luck.
Davis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Davis wants to control from the top but Hinch keeps moving.
Davis scoring with punches to the head and body.
Davis won't allow Hinch to sweep him here.
Davis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hinch striking off his back but it's not causing Davis any problems.
Davis throws a big right hand that misses.
Hinch wants to stand and escape but Davis is having none of it.

Davis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Davis connects with a couple of short punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis sitting in guard here, content to control.
Davis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Davis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Hinch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hinch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Davis defends well.
Hinch not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Davis throws a big right hand that misses.

Davis is in close to Hinch's body, working some short punches and elbows.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hinch avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hinch works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Hinch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Davis passes Hinch's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Davis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hinch wants to control but Davis is keeping busy.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Davis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glen Davis dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


No luck for Hinch with that takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hinch looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hinch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Hinch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Davis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hinch!

Davis in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Hinch looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Davis turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glen Davis!
A less than humble Glen Davis misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
