Perala drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Perala is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Valdemes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Perala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valdemes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Valdemes tries to improve position but can't.
Valdemes is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Perala's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Perala looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valdemes works his way to full guard. Good work.
Valdemes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Perala is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Valdemes has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Perala is looking to defend but Valdemes has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Perala! Valdemes pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Perala taps out and this one is all over!
