PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johannes Metzler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Lincoln (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johannes Metzler had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lincoln looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lincoln wants to stand and escape but instead Metzler has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Metzler stops Lincoln from standing up.
Lincoln is looking to stand back up but Metzler counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lincoln.
Lincoln is trying to stand back up but Metzler is controlling him
Lincoln tries to kick Metzler off in order to stand up. Metzler Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Metzler thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Metzler prevents Lincoln from escaping the position.
Lincoln looks winded!

Metzler creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Metzler advances to full mount.
Metzler tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Lincoln defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Metzler.
Lincoln is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Metzler cracks Lincoln with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lincoln is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
