The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

No Gain moves into the clinch.
Lai is working for takedown but No Gain is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lai takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Nicholas Lai has been cut.
Lai tries a knee to the head but No Gain blocks it.
No Gain is pushing Lai up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Lai.
No Gain misses with a punch to the body.
No Gain avoids the elbow strike from Lai, against the cage.
Lai on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Lai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No Gain tries to clinch

and Lai counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
No Gain has hold of Lai's hands but Lai slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Lai decides to stand and escape the position.
No Gain is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

No Gain moves into range and clinches up with Lai.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No Gain lands an elbow just above Lai 's eye.
No Gain scores a nice knee to the body.
Lai is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No Gain taking a breather.
Lai takes an elbow to the temple.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for No Gain.
No Gain tries a body shot but Lai blocks it.
No Gain is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
No Gain lands a nice elbow.

Nicholas Lai's cut is getting worse.
No Gain lands a damaging elbow.
No Gain misses with a hook to the ribs.
No Gain will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lai up against the cage.
No Gain tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

No Gain drops Lai with a big knee straight up the middle! Lai is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Nicholas Lai's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
No Gain wants to clinch up but Lai keeps it at a distance.
No Gain looks to score with a jab to the body but Lai is just out of range.
Lai dives in and grabs No Gain's left leg, looking for a takedown. No Gain pushes down on Lai's head and hops out.
No Gain connects with a single shot there.
No Pain No Gain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lai bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

No Gain gets in close and instigates a clinch.
No Gain tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
No Gain throws a head punch that misses.
No Gain controlling the action here for a moment.
No Gain gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
No Gain stalls.
No Gain creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lai's defenses.

Jeez, Nicholas Lai's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

No Gain lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Nicholas Lai's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
