Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seo Tae Jong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sin Cara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seo Tae Jong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sin Cara!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cara takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A punch combination from Cara misses.
Tae Jong tries for a takedown but Cara sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cara waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tae Jong.
Tae Jong gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Cara counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cara.
Tae Jong wants to get back to striking at distance but Cara won't allow it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cara as Tae Jong tries to tie him up.

Cara breaks from the clinch.
Tae Jong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cara swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tae Jong gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cara to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cara pushing down on Tae Jong's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Tae Jong wants to control but Cara is keeping busy.
Cara moves nicely into side control.
Cara lands some shots froms side control.

Cara is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tae Jong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Cara wants to stand but Tae Jong is controlling his arm.
Tae Jong is trying to control Cara's posture but Cara avoids it.

Cara tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tae Jong can't do much from the bottom here.

Cara stands up.

Cara looking to score a takedown here. Tae Jong is defending well but Cara drives through and ends up in Tae Jong's guard.
Tae Jong thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cara's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Cara wants to stand but Tae Jong has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cara prevents Tae Jong from getting back to his feet.
Cara content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Tae Jong trying to keep a closed guard but Cara is proving a slippery customer.
Cara advances to half guard.
Tae Jong is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cara perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tae Jong has hold of Cara's hands but Cara slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sin Cara dominated that round.

Nice sprawl there from Cara as Tae Jong shoots in.
Tae Jong fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cara checks it well.

Tae Jong gets caught flat footed, as Cara shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Cara got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tae Jong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cara has managed to get both his arms back between Tae Jong's legs - danger averted.
Cara not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Cara tries to free his leg and advance position but Tae Jong is retaining full guard.
Cara wants to stand but Tae Jong has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tae Jong throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Cara trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Cara is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Cara has eaten all the pies!
Tae Jong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cara engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sin Cara.
Tae Jong shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Cara counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cara has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tae Jong is proving hard to escape from.

Tae Jong looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cara passes into side control.

Tae Jong is trying to escape the position but Cara is controlling the position.
Cara tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Tae Jong is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cara is controlling him well.
Cara cracks Tae Jong with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Cara controls the position.
Check out the look on Cara's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sin Cara showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Cara wants to slow Tae Jong down by chopping away at his legs.
Cara tries a head kick but it misses.

Cara shoots in and gets a takedown into Tae Jong's guard.
Cara wants to stand but Tae Jong has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Cara trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Tae Jong manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Tae Jong prevents Cara from getting back to his feet.

Tae Jong wants to control from the top but Cara keeps moving.
Cara is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tae Jong shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cara defends it nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cara tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Tae Jong tries to buck Cara off but Cara is having none of it.
Tae Jong looking for a sweep but Cara has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Cara controlling the pace for now.
Tae Jong is just holding on here. Cara manages to take his back.
Cara has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tae Jong is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cara.
Seo Tae Jong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sin Cara is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sin Cara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cara winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
