Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leonardo Florentino Ernesto Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Metal Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripper has chosen Sabaton - Metal ripper as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Metal Ripper was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leonardo Florentino Ernesto Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Metal Ripper!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripper keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alvarez looks to land a right hand but Ripper moved out of range.
Alvarez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ripper.
Alvarez avoids the body shot from Ripper.
Ripper is looking to score with low kicks.
Ripper works Alvarez's body with a nice hook.
Alvarez just misses with a punch to the body.

Alvarez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ripper on his heels. He'll look to pass Ripper's guard now, I'm sure.

Alvarez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alvarez seems to be looking for submissions.
Well, if Alvarez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ripper strikes from the bottom but Alvarez uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Ripper is not content to let Alvarez control the position.
Ripper is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Ripper seems a little lost for a moment, as Alvarez dominates the positioning.
Ripper tries to buck Alvarez off but Alvarez is having none of it.
Ripper is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Ripper looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alvarez is one step ahead there.

Ripper is trying to hold Alvarez in close to prevent damage but Alvarez has managed to pass into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alvarez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ripper looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Alvarez is trying to get an arm triangle but Ripper is defending well.
Alvarez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ripper keeps working.
Ripper regains half guard.
Ripper wants to get back to full guard.
Ripper throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Alvarez is trying to work for a kimura but Ripper is defending well.
Ripper tries to roll over but Alvarez keeps him under control.

Ripper is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alvarez scores with a couple of nice shots.

Alvarez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Alvarez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ripper with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Alvarez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Ripper wants to get back to full guard.

Alvarez cracks Ripper with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ripper is in a horrible position here. Alvarez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Alvarez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ripper in his tracks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ripper. Alvarez does a little dance to reset his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ripper enables Alvarez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ripper manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

I would just about give that final round to Metal Ripper.
I think Alvarez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
