Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ari Birmiski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jokke Mela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Birmiski's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I'm Back - T.I. Mela has chosen Da Rockwilder as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ari Birmiski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jokke Mela!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birmiski looks to clinch
and Mela counters with a stiff right hand.
Mela fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Birmiski manages to avoid it.

Birmiski darts in and clinches Mela up against the ropes.
Birmiski keeps control of Mela as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mela is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Mela is trying to break free.

Mela breaks from the clinch.
Birmiski moves in looking to clinch but Mela pushes him off.
Mela tries for a takedown but Birmiski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Birmiski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mela darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Birmiski tries to roll over but Mela keeps him under control.
Mela wants to pass to mount but Birmiski is defending the position.
Birmiski is looking for a sweep. Mela is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Birmiski is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Mela scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Birmiski is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mela scores with a couple of nice shots.
Mela is trying to control. Birmiski wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Birmiski is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mela jumps into side control!

Mela is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Birmiski has escaped the position, nice work there.
Birmiski manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Birmiski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mela has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Birmiski has managed to get both his arms back between Mela's legs - danger averted.

Birmiski throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mela escapes and throws Birmiski's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Mela throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Mela is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Birmiski has escaped the position, nice work there.
Birmiski takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Birmiski manages to get back to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mela seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Birmiski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mela is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Birmiski sees it coming and defends easily.
Mela prevents Birmiski from improving his position.
Mela wants to pass to mount but Birmiski is defending the position.

Mela is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Birmiski has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mela works his way into full mount!
Birmiski gets back to half guard.

Mela has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mela connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Mela fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Mela has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mela lands a big elbow.
Birmiski tries to lock up and control but Mela gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Birmiski is bucking up trying to escape but Mela cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Birmiski bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Birmiski throws a strike but Mela rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Birmiski keeping moving, preventing Mela from controlling successfully.
Birmiski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mela is one step ahead there.
Birmiski is trying to keep Mela in close.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Birmiski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mela tries to avoid it but Birmiski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mela to the ground. Mela escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mela throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ari Birmiski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mela thows a body shot but no joy.
Birmiski tries to clinch there but Mela circles away.
Birmiski is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mela feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
