Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walt Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walt Walters!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Walters is trying to push Johnson away but Johnson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Walters is trying to maintain a safe position but Johnson gets an underhook and turns Walters into the cage.
Johnson dodges an elbow strike from Walters.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walters throws a body kick that misses.

Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Walters to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Walters won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.
Walters wanted to stand there but Johnson had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walters tries to stand but Johnson is controlling from the bottom.
Walters should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Walters fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. Walters is now in Johnson's guard.
Walters is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Walters gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A head kick misses from Walters.
Some bone on bone action there as Walters checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Walters is retaining full guard.
Walters is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Johnson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walters on the ground.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Walters looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Walters wants to stand but Johnson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Walters stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Johnson to get to his feet.
Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walters throws a half hearted mid kick.
Walters pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Walters scores with a takedown into Johnson's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walt Walters dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Johnson pushes Walters up against the cage in a clinch.

Walters gets control of Johnson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Walters will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Walters is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him.

Walters wants to stand and escape but Johnson is having none of it.

Walters tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Walters. Walters gets slowly back to his feet.
Jeff Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walt Walters.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Walters is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Johnson gets a clinch.

Walters changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walters tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Walters tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head.
Johnson is looking to reverse the position.
Walters wants to stand but Johnson is controlling his arm.

Walters decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Walters tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walters fails with a takedown attempt.

Walters bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walt Walters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Walters shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Walters finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fight stays on the outside here - Walters looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Walters shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Johnson throws a push kick but Walters slaps the foot to one side.

Walters stands up and waves to Johnson to follow him.

No luck for Walters with that takedown attempt.
Walters attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Walters throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Walters is in Johnson's guard.
Walters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.
Jeff Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Walters stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
