PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alak Aksornpan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Krol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aksornpan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Thai National Anthem - "Phleng Chat Thai". Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alak Aksornpan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Krol!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aksornpan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Krol misses with a double jab.
Jack Krol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aksornpan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Krol as he avoids it easily.

Aksornpan pushes Krol up against the cage in a clinch.
Aksornpan displaying some good clinch control by pressing Krol up against the cage.
Krol is trying to push Aksornpan away but Aksornpan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Aksornpan manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Aksornpan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Krol's efforts to push away.
Aksornpan has Krol pressed against the cage, preventing Krol from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Krol has had enough of the clinch but Aksornpan keeps him there for the moment.

Aksornpan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Aksornpan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Krol is looking to stand up but Aksornpan won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Krol won't allow Aksornpan to sweep him here.
Aksornpan is working hard here to advance position.
Krol really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aksornpan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Krol would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Aksornpan is trying to control the position but Krol postures up.
Aksornpan will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Aksornpan wants to sweep here but Krol controlling him for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Aksornpan closes the distance and clinches up with Krol, looking for a takedown. Aksornpan pushes Krol against the cage but Krol circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Aksornpan takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Alak Aksornpan has been cut.

Krol lands a body shot.
Krol is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aksornpan.

and Krol takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Aksornpan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Krol tries to break free but Aksornpan pushes him back against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aksornpan is looking to stand up but Krol isn't so interested in that idea.

Krol wanted to stand there but Aksornpan had control of the position.
Krol won't allow Aksornpan to sweep him here.
Aksornpan doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Aksornpan looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

We're going to have a standup here because Alak Aksornpan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Krol slaps away a takedown attempt from Aksornpan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alak Aksornpan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Krol throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aksornpan.

Aksornpan moves out of range of the strikes.

Aksornpan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Krol avoids it.
Krol looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Krol tries to break free but Aksornpan pushes him back against the cage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Aksornpan throws an elbow but misses.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Aksornpan keeps control of Krol as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Krol is looking to break free of the clinch but Aksornpan has double underhooks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Aksornpan decides to pull guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Krol wants to stand but Aksornpan is controlling his posture from full guard.
Aksornpan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Krol lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Aksornpan circles away quickly and effectively.
Krol throws a head kick that misses.
Aksornpan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Krol sprawls well. Krol wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aksornpan gets slowly back to his feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Krol.

Krol misses with a two punch combination.
Krol tries to bum rush Aksornpan with a series of wild strikes but Aksornpan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Aksornpan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Aksornpan.
Krol wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Krol is fighting off a takedown attempt but Aksornpan is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Krol to the mat. Krol regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Krol wants to stand and escape but Aksornpan is having none of it.
Aksornpan advances position into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aksornpan is looking to take a break and control but Krol is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Krol tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Krol is breathing heavily.
Aksornpan controlling from mount.
Aksornpan connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Aksornpan looking to secure an arm triangle but Krol defends it well.

Aksornpan is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Aksornpan!

Alak Aksornpan was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
