Pettis comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West - Stronger . Contreiras is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Whiskey in the jar. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis tries to clinch but Contreiras moves away

and Contreiras counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Pettis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Contreiras has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pettis has managed to get both his arms back between Contreiras's legs - danger averted.

Contreiras wants to stand but Pettis is controlling the position.

Contreiras working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pettis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pettis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pettis tries to kick Contreiras off but Contreiras keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Contreiras is trying to control the action in half guard but Pettis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fabiano Contreiras showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Contreiras drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pettis is pressed up against the cage. Contreiras has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pettis down to the mat. Pettis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Contreiras goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pettis has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Contreiras but great work by Pettis.

With the fighters up against the cage, Pettis throws an elbow but misses.
Pettis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Contreiras has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Pettis pushes off an throws an elbow but Contreiras leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Contreiras goes for a takedown attempt but Pettis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Anthony Pettis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pettis misses with a punch to the body.
Pettis swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pettis tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Contreiras blocks an elbow strike.

Contreiras takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Fabiano Contreiras has been cut.
Contreiras can't get the takedown.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Anthony Pettis.
I think Contreiras has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
