PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dark Daemon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Turbitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Turbitt!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daemon drives through with a takedown into Turbitt's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Turbitt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Daemon pushes down on Turbitt's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Daemon is looking to advance position but Turbitt won't allow it.

Daemon wants to work for an arm triangle but Turbitt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Turbitt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Daemon is working away from the top position though.

Daemon is looking for a kimura here.
Daemon is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Turbitt!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turbitt is trying to escape the mount.

The referee warns Turbitt that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Daemon controlling the pace for now.
Turbitt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Turbitt working to try and regain half guard.
Daemon with a couple of short strikes.

Daemon wants to finish this one by submission but Turbitt is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Daemon.
Turbitt keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Daemon looking to control but Turbitt is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Daemon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Turbitt hang on?

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Daemon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Turbitt is rocked!

It looks like Sam Turbitt has been cut.

Turbitt tries to hold on but Daemon pushes him away.
Daemon punishing his opponent with strikes.

That has opened up Sam Turbitt's cut even more.
Daemon controlling from the full mount.
Daemon fails to take his opponent's back.
Turbitt tries to hold on but Daemon pushes him away.
Daemon breaks from Turbitt's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Turbitt tries to lock up and control but Daemon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Turbitt is in a horrible position here. Daemon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The cut above Sam Turbitt's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daemon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Turbitt's face.
Turbitt is squirming around, avoiding Daemon's attempts to control the action.
BOOM! Daemon connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Sam Turbitt's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sam Turbitt's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dark Daemon!
