And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rizzy Kock!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Deftone. No joy for Kock on that attempt.

Deftone tries to keep at a distance but Kock has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kock drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Deftone wants to break free but Kock has control.

Deftone manages to break the clinch.

Kock gets a takedown into half guard.
Kock not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Kock is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kock wants to pass to mount but Deftone is defending the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kock seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Deftone has recovered full guard.
Deftone keeping moving, preventing Kock from controlling successfully.
Kock would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kock trying to control the position from guard on top but Deftone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Deftone keeping full guard, as Kock tries to pass.
Kock won't allow Deftone to get back to his feet.

Rizzy Kock has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kock shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Deftone as he jumps to the side.
Deadguy Deftone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rizzy Kock.

A jab-cross combination lands for Deftone and sends Kock crashing to the mat! Deftone follows him down to the mat - Kock regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Rizzy Kock has been cut.
Kock looks winded!

Deftone wants to get back to his feet.
Deftone wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Kock uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Deftone trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kock's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kock has control of Deftone's left arm, preventing Deftone from doing any damage.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kock looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Deftone lands with a right and another and another! Kock is in big trouble! Deftone lands again and this time it's lights out for Kock! A quality knockout there for Deftone.
