Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Sahebt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vammie Weruke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weruke has chosen Waking the Demon - Bullet For My Valentine as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Sahebt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vammie Weruke!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sahebt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Weruke napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Sahebt goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Weruke rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sahebt's guard! Nice work there by Weruke!
Weruke cracks Sahebt with a solid left hand.
Weruke stopping the sweep attempt from Sahebt.
Weruke throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sahebt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Weruke throws a strike but Sahebt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sahebt in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sahebt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Weruke is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Sahebt trying to control the position from guard on top but Weruke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sahebt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Weruke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sahebt wants to pass the guard but Weruke is keeping the position.
Sahebt trying to control the position from guard on top but Weruke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sahebt has gone for a leg lock! Weruke slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sahebt's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Weruke looking to sit in guard and control but Sahebt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sahebt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Weruke is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sahebt, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sahebt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sahebt is looking for a kimura but Weruke is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sahebt to get the leverage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sahebt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Weruke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sahebt trying to pass the guard but Weruke defending well.

Sahebt in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Weruke tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Sahebt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Johnny Sahebt!
Johnny Sahebt decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
