Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lester Howell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tyson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dark Tranquillity - Lethe . Lester Howell has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jason Tyson's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Howell throws out the jab.

so Tyson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Tyson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tyson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Howell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tyson defends it easily.

Howell shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tyson sprawls well. Tyson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Howell gets slowly back to his feet.

Howell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Tyson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Howell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Howell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tyson can pounce on him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Howell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tyson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tyson shoots in looking for a takedown. Howell tries to sprawl out of it but Tyson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Howell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Howell is looking for a sweep.
Howell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tyson is looking to take a break and control but Howell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tyson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tyson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tyson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tyson is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Howell still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Howell has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
