and Shadow counters with a series of strikes that sends Diaz to the canvas! Shadow follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Bill Shadow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gauge Diaz.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Shadow chips away with some ground and pound.
Diaz is still in real trouble! Can Shadow finish him?
Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shadow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shadow lands a couple of elbows.

Shadow is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Shadow is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Shadow is pushing down on Diaz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Diaz is fighting to maintain full guard but Shadow has managed to sneak the leg through.
Diaz seems to have recovered his senses.
Shadow works his foot free and advances to mount.

Shadow is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Shadow extends the arm and Diaz is forced to tap!
