PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brock Catherins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Georges St Pierre was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Catherins misses with a takedown attempt

and St Pierre counters by clinching up.

St Pierre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Catherins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
St Pierre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Catherins's guard.

Catherins is fighting off a takedown attempt but St Pierre is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Catherins to the mat. Catherins regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Georges St Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Catherins throws a lazy right hand but St Pierre sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Catherins's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Catherins leaves St Pierre with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Georges St Pierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well St Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
