The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearse scores with a nice head shot.
A shot to the liver by Pearse. Beautiful body shot.
Pearse lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Valdemes dives in and scores a takedown into Pearse's guard.
Pearse is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pearse looking for a sweep. Not yet Pearse, not yet.
Pearse trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Valdemes pushing down on Pearse's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Pearse looking for submissions off his back.
Valdemes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pearse defends it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pearse is trying to maintain the position but Valdemes is very close to passing his half guard.

Pearse has his hands clasped together around Valdemes's back. He's all about the action.
Valdemes wants to work for an arm triangle but Pearse is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pearse is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Valdemes has latched onto it... Big trouble! Valdemes pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Pearse is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Valdemes!
