PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage has chosen Bon Jovi - It's my life as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Lytle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jackson Savage!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savage drives through with a takedown into Lytle's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Lytle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Savage is aware though and is defending well.

Lytle has his foot on Savage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Savage works his way back into a safe position though.

Savage avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Savage slips nicely into half guard.

Savage is working for a kimura but Lytle is defending it quite comfortably.
Savage is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Savage has hold of Lytle's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lytle manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Savage cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Savage won't let Lytle get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Savage is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Lytle is in real trouble.

Lytle is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lytle is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Savage gets his way!

That's time! Lytle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lytle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Savage was well out of range. Poor timing from Lytle.
Lytle leaves Savage with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Lytle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Savage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Savage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jackson Savage has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lytle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Savage defends well.

Lytle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Savage defends it easily.

Savage drops back looking for a leg! Lytle is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lytle manages to kick Savage off! Savage jumps back into Lytle's guard.

Savage passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Savage thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
