Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Lita!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lita throws a series of punches but Fighter avoids them all with ease.
Lita throws a head kick but Fighter moves out of range.
Lita will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fighter keeps the fight on the outside.
Lita scores with a jab. Fighter acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It looks like Daniel Fighter has been cut.
Fighter misses with a hook.
Fighter misses with a looping left.

Lita gets caught flat footed, as Fighter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Fighter decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lita, up you get!

Lita closes the distance and clinches up with Fighter, looking for a takedown. Lita pushes Fighter against the cage but Fighter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fighter gets a takedown into half guard.
Lita scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Fighter manages to mount him!
Lita wants to hold on but Fighter pushes him away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fighter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lita for as long as he can get away with.
Lita tries to hold on but Fighter pushes him away.

Lita is looking to improve his position but Fighter isn't that keen on the idea.
Fighter won't let Lita get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

We're going to have a standup here because Daniel Fighter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Fighter throws a hook to the side of Lita's head but Lita sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Lita fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fighter throws a jab but it's blocked by Lita.

Fighter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lita quickly recovers to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Fighter will probably get the nod.

A nice inside leg kick there by Lita. That's going to slow Fighter down.
Lita throws a sloppy head kick and Fighter moves out of range easily.

Daniel Fighter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fighter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Daniel Fighter has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Lita throws a lazy right hand but Fighter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Lita uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fighter.
Fighter closes the distance and clinches up with Lita, looking for a takedown. Fighter pushes Lita against the cage but Lita circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fighter loads up on a big right hand but Lita slips the punch.

Fighter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lita's guard.
Lita manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fighter manages to get himself to full guard.

Lita wants to control from the top but Fighter keeps moving.
Lita might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fighter haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Lita stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fighter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Renato Lita.

Fighter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fighter lands in his opponent's guard.

Lita working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fighter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fighter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's time! Fighter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Fighter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lita tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fighter is in Lita's guard.

Lita with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Fighter is pulling down on Lita's head to control his posture.
Fighter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fighter tries to get out of the position.
Lita is looking to stand up but Fighter won't let him.
Lita is working Fighter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lita tries to buck Fighter off but Fighter is having none of it.
Lita pushes Fighter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fighter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Fighter is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lita's shoulder. That is not cool.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lita throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Fighter is staying tight to Lita's torso, preventing him from escaping.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Daniel Fighter.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fighter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
