Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Otis Gein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saku Katsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gein might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Puritania. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Otis Gein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saku Katsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katsumoto has his takedown stuffed
and Gein counters with a nice body shot.
Katsumoto tries to clinch but Gein moves out of range.

and Gein counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Katsumoto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gein swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Otis Gein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saku Katsumoto.

Gein shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Saku Katsumoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gein walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Katsumoto checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Gein counters with a nice uppercut.

Katsumoto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gein circles away.

enabling Gein to counter with a crisp jab.

Gein feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Katsumotos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Katsumoto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gein avoids it really well and circles away.

Gein lands a hook that snaps the head of Katsumoto backwards.

Katsumoto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Katsumoto misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Katsumoto looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Katsumoto counters with a series of strikes. Gein will be more careful next time no doubt.
Gein looks to throw the jab but Katsumoto is out of range.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Katsumoto with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gein to score with a decent uppercut.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gein checks the leg kick nicely there.
Horrible takedown by Katsumoto or perhaps it was just good defense by Gein which made him look bad.

enabling Gein to counter with a crisp jab.

Gein jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Gein lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Katsumoto goes down and covers up as Gein starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
