Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter McBain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBain doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
McBain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McBain swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matthews on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
McBain just misses with a punch to the body.
McBain blocks a jab.
McBain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McBain looks to land a combination. Matthews sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Matthews looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McBain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McBain shoots in looking for a takedown but Matthews manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McBain's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

McBain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Matthews manages to avoid it.
McBain throws a head kick that misses.
The fighters circling - Matthews throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Matthews throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McBain misses with a body kick.
McBain swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matthews takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
McBain scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

McBain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Matthews swinging wildly here.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
McBain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matthews misses with a two punch combination.
McBain takes a swing at Matthews's ribcage but misses.
McBain misses with a jab, cross combination.

McBain moves away from the strike by Matthews.
McBain defending well as Matthews loads up on a big left hand.

Matthews moves out of range of the body kick.
McBain lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Matthews misses with a straight right.
McBain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

McBain comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
McBain throws a combination that misses
and Matthews counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Matthews defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McBain.
Matthews misses with the combination.
McBain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A jab from McBain does it's job there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter McBain dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


McBain ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

McBain swings for the body but Matthews moves out of range.
Matthews misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McBain.
Matthews throws a poor cross that misses
and McBain counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
McBain smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Matthews avoids the body shot from McBain.
Matthews is breathing heavily.
McBain stuns Matthews with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

McBain scores with a jab.

McBain lands a big head kick that sends Matthews tumbling to the mat! McBain takes a step backwards and waves Matthews back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Matthews is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McBain throws a monster overhand right that drops Matthews! McBain follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
