Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Freedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenjiro Tanaka!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freedman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Kenjiro Tanaka has been cut.
Freedman misses with a combination
and Tanaka counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Freedman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Freedman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tanaka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Freedman.
Freedman misses with a looping left.
Tanaka has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Freedman tries to bum rush Tanaka with a series of wild strikes but Tanaka uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Freedman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tanaka on the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Freedman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Freedman misses with a two punch combination.
Freedman misses with the combination.
Marcus Freedman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Freedman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tanaka.
A right-left combo lands from Freedman.
Freedman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tanaka.
Tanaka takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


Tanaka is rocked!
Freedman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tanaka is still on wobbly legs! Can Freedman finish him?

Freedman connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Tanaka covering up! Freedman comes in with a big uppercut and Tanaka goes doooown! He's slumped up against the ropes, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Marcus Freedman!
Marcus Freedman seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
