The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trevor attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Phoenix rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Trevor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Revenger Phoenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Phoenix feints a jab promting Trevor to slip. Phoenix then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Trevor slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Trevor changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Phoenix fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Trevor tries for a takedown but Phoenix sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Phoenix fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Phoenix uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Trevor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phoenix but Phoenix pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Phoenix looks to land a combination. Trevor sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Cory Trevor has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters circle momentarily. Phoenix darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Phoenix goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Trevor walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Phoenix misses with a wild combination.
Nice takedown defense from Phoenix. No joy for Trevor on that attempt.
A left lands for Phoenix.
Phoenix sizes up Trevor with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Phoenix bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Trevor's head.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Trevor is looking to work some ground and pound but Phoenix has wrist control.
Phoenix looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Trevor puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Phoenix has hold of Trevor's hands but Trevor slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Phoenix can do anything to dispel that myth.

Trevor has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Trevor has isolated one of Phoenix's arms. Phoenix looking to fight him off but Trevor twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
