PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Overfield Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pena Trasseli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overfield Jr kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Need A Doctor. Trasseli has chosen Look at my horse! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Overfield Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pena Trasseli!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overfield Jr takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Overfield Jr gets the takedown into side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Trasseli is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Overfield Jr tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Trasseli tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Overfield Jr wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Trasseli is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Overfield Jr asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Overfield Jr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Trasseli is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Overfield Jr goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Trasseli has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Overfield Jr but great work by Trasseli.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Overfield Jr tries for a takedown but Trasseli sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Trasseli keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Overfield Jr throws a push kick but Trasseli slaps the foot to one side.
Trasseli attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Pena Trasseli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trasseli uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Trasseli will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Trasseli thuds his shin into the meat of Overfield Jr's side.

Trasseli throws a lazy right hand but Overfield Jr sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Donk. Trasseli catches Overfield Jr right on the button with a cross.
Trasseli lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Oh Overfield Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Overfield Jr drops his hands momentarily and Trasseli takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Trasseli cracks Overfield Jr with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Overfield Jr tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Trasseli pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Overfield Jr is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pena Trasseli!
During a confident post fight interview, Pena Trasseli thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
