The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanayama throws a series of punches but Shooter moves out of range.
Hanayama gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Shooter counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Hanayama closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hanayama lands in his opponent's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Shooter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hanayama manages to get himself to full guard.
Shooter passes into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shooter lands a nice short elbow.
Hanayama tries to roll over but Shooter keeps him under control.

Shooter wants to free his trapped foot but Hanayama is holding on for dear life with his legs.
