Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Shields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kita Zen!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Shields counters with a shoot takedown. Zen fights it but they end up in guard.
Shields pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zen is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fight stays on the outside here - Zen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Zen tries to control Shields's body but Shields pushes him off. Zen squirms to his side and now Shields has his back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Shields is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Shields is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Zen. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Shields struggling to land strikes to the head as Zen covers up.
Zen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shields. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shields has Zen flattened out and is raining down punches.

Shields has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Zen is defending well but eventually Shields manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Zen has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
