Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matthew Hoehne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Childs!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoehne shoots in looking for a takedown but Childs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hoehne's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Childs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hoehne circles away.
Horrible takedown by Hoehne or perhaps it was just good defense by Childs which made him look bad.
Matthew Hoehne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Childs. No joy for Hoehne on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Hoehne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Childs fails with the takedown.
Childs lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hoehne keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Childs closes the distance and clinches up with Hoehne, looking for a takedown. Childs pushes Hoehne against the cage but Hoehne circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hoehne drives through with a takedown into guard.
Childs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Childs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoehne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hoehne works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hoehne lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Childs is trying to stand up here but Hoehne is controlling him well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoehne is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hoehne passes to side control.

Hoehne tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Hoehne is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Childs looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hoehne gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Childs is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hoehne lets go of the hold and Childs can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Matthew Hoehne!
A relieved looking Matthew Hoehne thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
