Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edward Kenway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asly Hamps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Edward Kenway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Asly Hamps!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kenway fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hamps, pushing him back against the cage.
Hamps is trying to maintain a safe position but Kenway gets an underhook and turns Hamps into the cage.
Kenway is looking to take this one to the mat.

Kenway has Hamps pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kenway pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hamps tumbling to the mat - Kenway dives into Hamps's guard.
Kenway trying to control the position from guard on top but Hamps is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hamps wants to stand up but Kenway is controlling him.
Hamps keeping moving, preventing Kenway from controlling successfully.
Hamps utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kenway trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kenway looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

We're going to have a standup here because Edward Kenway wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Kenway has his takedown stuffed
and Hamps connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Hamps counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hamps.

Hamps escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kenway shoots for a takedown but Hamps saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Hamps makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Hamps is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kenway is defending well for now.
Kenway keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hamps's efforts to push away.

Hamps pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kenway enables Hamps to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kenway manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hamps would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kenway looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hamps trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hamps stands up and waves to Kenway to follow him.
Kenway tries for a takedown but Hamps sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hamps tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kenway manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hamps closes the distance and clinches.
Hamps tries to land knees in the clinch but Kenway avoids the damage to the body.
Hamps connects with a nasty looking knee right to Kenway's face.
Hamps prevents Kenway from breaking the clinch.
Kenway wants to break free but Hamps has control.

Hamps's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hamps should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Hamps tries to clinch there but Kenway circles away.
Hamps defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kenway.

Hamps closes the distance and clinches.
Hamps scores with a knee to the head.
Hamps prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hamps breaks from the clinch.
Hamps tries to close the distance and clinch but Kenway swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hamps ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hamps no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hamps bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kenway's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hamps postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hamps has his feet on Kenway's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kenway shoots in looking for a takedown. Hamps tries to sprawl out of it but Kenway keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hamps manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kenway.

Hamps looks to land a combination but Kenway avoids it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hamps must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hamps moves in looking to clinch but Kenway pushes him off.

Hamps tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kenway.
Hamps misses with a head shot. Kenway uses the momentum to regain guard.

Hamps takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hamps tries to keep at a distance but Kenway has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hamps pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Hamps counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Kenway has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hamps clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Hamps is trying to get back to his feet but Kenway has full control of the position and if anything, Hamps has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Hamps tries to escape but Kenway has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Kenway throws a series of strikes and Hamps wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here.
Kenway won't let Hamps get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Asly Hamps is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Hamps has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
