Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rage Kootz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colin Millen!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millen is looking to chop away at Kootz's legs.
Millen throws a chopping leg kick but Kootz manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
A slapping body kick lands there for Millen.
Millen leaves Kootz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kootz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Millen throws a leg kick but Kootz moved away.
Kootz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Millen throws out the jab.
Kootz fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rage Kootz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Millen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kootz was well out of range. Poor timing from Millen.
Kootz tries to clinch but Millen moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Kootz or perhaps it was just good defense by Millen which made him look bad.

Millen just misses with a punch to the body.
Kootz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Millen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Millen throws a front kick aimed at Kootz's knee but Kootz avoids it well.
Kootz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Colin Millen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Millen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kootz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kootz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Millen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kootz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Kootz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Millen is looking to control Kootz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Millen avoid being mounted?

Millen looking for submissions off his back.
Kootz is keen to just control but Millen is a slippery customer.

Kootz prevents Millen from improving his position.

Kootz decides to stand and escape the position.
Millen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kootz's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kootz throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Kootz tries to clinch but Millen is having none of it.
Kootz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kootz jabs Millen to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Nice sprawl there from Millen as Kootz shoots in.
Kootz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Millen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Kootz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Millen counters with a good, hard body kick but Kootz shrugs it off.
Millen misses with a shot to the body
and Kootz counters with a nice body shot.
Kootz walks forward, straight into a front kick from Millen.
Millen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kootz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kootz is breathing heavily.
Kootz slips under a jab.
Millen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kootz's calf.

Millen tries to keep at a distance but Kootz has taken the fight into the clinch.
Millen swings wildly with an uppercut but Kootz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kootz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Millen after a bit of a struggle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Millen misses with a knee strike.
Kootz jumps guard but Millen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Millen is looking to control Kootz's arms but Kootz gets an underhook and turns him. Now Millen has his back to the cage.
Kootz is trying to pull guard but Millen has him pressed against the cage.
Millen landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kootz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Millen smiles and moves away.
Kootz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Millen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kootz. That did some damage!
Millen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kootz was well out of range. Poor timing from Millen.
Kootz digs a good body shot into Millen's ribs.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Millen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Colin Millen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Millen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Colin Millen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kootz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Millen swats away the attempt to clinch by Kootz.
Millen misses with a hook to the body
and Kootz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Millen stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kootz.

Kootz tries to score a body lock takedown but Millen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Millen pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

It looks like Rage Kootz has been cut.
Kootz tries to pull guard but Millen won't allow it.

Kootz has Millen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Millen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Millen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Millen gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kootz regains guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Millen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kootz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Millen is aware though and is defending well.

Millen throws an elbow that misses. Kootz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Millen's guard. Nice move by Kootz!
Kootz wants to control from the top but Millen keeps moving.
Kootz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kootz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kootz slows the pace down in half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Millen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kootz moves away.

Kootz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Millen circles away quickly and effectively.

Kootz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Millen sprawls well. Millen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kootz gets slowly back to his feet.
Millen tests Kootz's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Millen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Millen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kootz.
Kootz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kootz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Millen. Millen obviously looking to wear him down.

Kootz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Millen to the mat! Millen manages to get full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kootz is looking to work some ground and pound but Millen has wrist control.

Millen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kootz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

I would just about give that final round to Colin Millen.
I think Millen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
