The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reyes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mason to the mat! Mason manages to get full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Reyes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Mason tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Reyes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Reyes working the body and head with strikes.
Reyes in side control lands a decent elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Reyes lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Mason is looking to regain half guard here but Reyes keeps moving and retains side control.

Mason is trying to improve his position.

Reyes connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mason some visible discomfort.
Reyes lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mason down.

Reyes is putting a hurting on Mason here, landing some big shots from side control.
Oh Mason is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Reyes advances to mount.
Reyes loads up with a big shot that hurts Mason! He's pulled Reyes in close but Reyes has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Mason survive? More strikes from Reyes and Mason is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
