Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kimmo Kinnunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Tsehov!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinnunen shoots in but Tsehov avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Kinnunen tries to keep at a distance but Tsehov has taken the fight into the clinch.
Tsehov with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Tsehov throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Tsehov scores a nice knee to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tsehov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kinnunen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tsehov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Kinnunen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tsehov smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kimmo Kinnunen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tsehov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kinnunen wants to get back to full guard.
Tsehov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tsehov with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tsehov wants to control but Kinnunen is keeping him busy.
Kinnunen tries to roll over but Tsehov keeps him under control.

Kinnunen is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Tsehov pulls his head out easily.
Kinnunen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tsehov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tsehov's back!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tsehov just trying to survive but Kinnunen is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Tsehov is trying to defend against the choke here but Kinnunen has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Kinnunen Tightens the hold and Tsehov taps out furiously! Kinnunen displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kimmo Kinnunen!
